Information on Student Services

Student Services staff offer a variety of support services for students of the Adult Learning Centre on a regular basis and may serve as the liaison between students, teachers, and the administrative team. Student Services staff offer support, information, and/or referrals to students in the following areas:

• Intake advising and the creation of a learning plan
• Prior Learning Assessment/Partial credits
• Academic advising
• Post-secondary course/program advising/assistance with registration
• Career exploration and planning
• Creative job search/resume writing support
• Onsite and offsite academic tutoring
• Computer usage and Internet access for online learning and coursework
• Resources on other programs
• Academic institution resources
• Transportation information
• Personal/family counselling
• Addictions counselling
• Special needs support
• Attendance support
• Motivational support
• English as an Additional Language supports
• Benchmark Screening
• Exit advising

All students of the Adult Learning Centre are encouraged to speak with a Student Services staff member at any time. Referrals can be made as needed.
