{"id":171,"date":"2018-01-27T22:21:09","date_gmt":"2018-01-27T22:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live4others.com\/ms1911\/?page_id=171"},"modified":"2021-04-09T22:45:32","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T22:45:32","slug":"jobworks-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/?page_id=171","title":{"rendered":"Scholarship for Students Graduating from the Adult Learning Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-background-color:#f9f9f9;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-one-full fusion-column-first fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><\/div>\n<h2><u>Scholarship for Students Graduating from the Adult Learning Centre<\/u><\/h2>\n<p>The Chown Centennial Scholarship is an award offered to a student graduating from the Adult Learning Centre and entering the University of Manitoba.<\/p>\n<p>This award is valued at $1000 and may be held together with:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Isabel Auld Entrance Scholarship<\/li>\n<li>The Chancellors\u2019 Scholarship<\/li>\n<li>The President\u2019s Laureate Scholarship<\/li>\n<li>The University of Manitoba Entrance Scholarships<\/li>\n<li>The Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A selection committee, consisting of staff members, will review all applications to nominate a recipient for this award at the convocation ceremony in June.<\/p>\n<h2><u>Criteria<\/u><\/h2>\n<p>Applicants must fulfill the following criteria to be considered for selection:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate from the Adult Learning Centre in either August, December or April of the graduation year (note that students upgrading are not eligible for this scholarship);<\/li>\n<li>Achieve a minimum average of 85 percent in the Grade 12 courses that allow the applicant to be eligible to enter any degree program at the University of Manitoba;<\/li>\n<li>Be admitted in and register for a full-time (24 credit hours) course load in the upcoming academic session in any direct-entry program;<\/li>\n<li>Complete the Chown Centennial Scholarship Application Form (available at the front desk);<\/li>\n<li>Prepare an academic essay (500 words maximum) detailing the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Reasons why the applicant should be selected as the recipient;<\/li>\n<li>Future goals and\/or plans of the applicant; and<\/li>\n<li>Examples of citizenship, leadership and\/or volunteering;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a letter of recommendation from someone outside the school who is\u00a0<em>not<\/em>a relative; and<\/li>\n<li>Submit all application related items to front desk staff within the third week of May.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"parent":113,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"100-width.php","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-171","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/171","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=171"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/171\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":19971,"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/171\/revisions\/19971"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/113"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.jobworksschool.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=171"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
