Student Services - Bursary Scholarship and Student Aid

Student Aid is a loan. Your student loan is made up of money from both the Canadian government and the Manitoba government. You will deal with the Manitoba Student Aid office in order to get both loans. Manitoba Student Aid also gives out a number of grants and bursaries, which do not have to be paid back.

The loan is meant to cover tuition, books and living expenses while you are attending college or university. You have to qualify financially for the loan and you must begin paying back the loan 6 months after you cease being a full time student.

Applications for student aid are submitted in June, for students attending college/university in the Fall/Winter term. If you apply online your application will be processed faster than if you apply using the paper application. The following work sheet will show you the type of personal information you need to gather before you fill out your application.

Before June you can go to the Manitoba Student aid website and do some calculations to see if you qualify for student aid and how much you might get.
